The Costa Brava’s best beaches and coves

The reputation of the Costa Brava is well-deserved. There are few places around the Mediterranean Sea where you can find a similar concentration of such beautiful beaches. From the Planamar hotel, we have selected 7 not to be missed during your stay in the region.

We start with the most practical, and by that we mean the most pleasant beaches to go with children. And what could be better than having the sea in front of your accommodation in Platja d'Aro?

Or, if you feel like moving around, here are some suggestions including all the services you may need.

Other family beaches on the Costa Brava

Tamariu . A family beach in an old fishing village with picturesque white houses. Perfect for those who love walking, as it can be reached by the camí de ronda coastal path.

Llafranc (Palafrugell). Another idyllic spot to spend the day with your loved ones. The beach is located in a bay at the foot of the Sant Sebastià mountain and right by the town of Llafranc, with a seafront promenadebustling with bars, restaurants and shops.

Aiguablava (Begur). This is one of the most popular spots with tourists on the Costa Brava. Its calm, shallow waters are perfect for small children to play. It is surrounded by nature, but still has all the services you need: lifeguards, a beach bar, restaurants, water sports equipment rental, and free parking. And if that was not enough, to the right of the beach there is a track leading up to a spot with the most spectacular views.

Platja Gran de l’Estartit – Illes Medes (Estartit), a long beach where you are sure to find a spot that is not overcrowded, even in high season. The beach has lovely views of the popular Illes Medes islands. Take goggles and a snorkel to enjoy the wealth of marine flora and fauna. Parking is free and there are plenty of services, including a wide range of water sports options.
