Golf on the Costa Brava
For golfers, Costa Brava contains some of Europe’s most lovely golf courses, some surrounded by nature, others with views of the sea, and all with superb facilities.
Our modern Hotel Planamar in Platja d’Aro is ideally located for visiting a wide range of golf courses, all within easy reach in a radius of less than 100 kilometres.
This is our choice of seven golf courses, with which we have partnerships:
Club Golf d’Aro – Mas Nou – 6.4 km away
A par 72 course with panoramic views of the Mediterranean sea and the Gavarres mountains. The 18-hole course was created by the famous designer Ramón Espinosa. It is ideal for both amateurs and professionals.
Club de Golf Costa Brava – 8.2 km away
Par 70 and par 73, with 27 holes. This course blends in perfectly with its stunning natural surroundings. Originally designed by Hamilton Stutt, it was recently extended by Jorge Soler and Eugenio Aguado.
Golf de Pals – 31.5 km away
Par 73 and 18 holes. This is the region’s oldest golf course, opened in 1966. It was built on sand dunes with an extensive pine forest planted over 70 years ago. It also has superb views of the sea. Created by the British designer F.W. Hawtree. For both experts and inexperienced players.
PGA Catalunya Resort – 29 km away
Par 72 with 36 holes over two courses: the Stadium Course, classified as Spain’s top golf course, and the Tour Course, ideal for beginners. Designed by Ángel Gallardo and Neil Coles.
Empordà Golf Resort – 31.4 km away
Three 18-hole courses, the Links and Forest courses, which can be combined to make a third 36 hole course, the Top 10 PGA. Designed by Robert Von Hagge, it is classified as one of the top 10 golf courses in Spain.
Torremirona Golf Club – 73.5 km away
A par 72, 18-hole course surrounded by greenery in the Empordà region. Seven kilometres from Figueres, the course, designed by Eugenio Aguado and Jordi Soler, is one of the best on the Costa Brava.
Club de Golf Peralada – 80.8 km away
This par 71, 18-hole course is very close to the Torremirona course, between the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean Sea. For competitions or a relaxing day’s golf.
